Got
to Kansas City and found an awesome park north of KC that
is right on the money — in the hills, on a lake, in
the middle of nowhere, can hear nothing but the birds, the
water and the occasional plane flying overhead from the local
airport. Set up camp the real way for the first time in six
days because the cold and snow kept us from doing so in the
Northeast. It's 55 degrees here, and when compared to the
12s an 22s we were consistently in for the last week, this
feels like a heat wave. Under blue skies, I hooked up the
AC, the H2O and the septic. Lit the grill, marinated some
rib eyes, cold beer, stars in the sky without a city light
to shine from the ground. Yes, this is RVin'. Plenty of acreage,
room to view, listen and smell. You can't even hear the electrickery
from here if you tried. This is part of what's so cool about
this kind of livin'. See the land, see the horizon, bang a
drum and hear it echo, listen to the geese quack back to your
beat, watch a basketball game from a friend's alma mater,
bet 50 bucks on the other team just so I can give him sh--
throughout the game. Take my time, take our time. Gotta take
it to give it. It's beautiful here.
