Established
in honor of some of the celebrities who visited basswood in
the '40s and '50s, the Country Celebrity House sits on a hill
overlooking one of the Basswood Lakes.
The
house offers your choice of three separate suites: the Truman
Suite, the Bing Crosby Suite, and the Rudy Vallee Suite. Guests
will enjoy decoration and memorabilia commemorating each suite's
namesake.
The
Celebrity House is perfect for family reunions and business
meetings.

The
Truman Suite
The
entire Truman family found the Basswood Resort to be a relaxing
retreat in days gone by.
Features
of the Truman Suite:
- 1,550
square feet, exquisitely furnished.
- Two
separate bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other a queen,
each decorated in Country French.
- Main
room with sleeper sofa and wood-burning stone fireplace.
- Two
private baths with Jacuzzi tubs.
- Full-size
kitchen with refrigerator, coffee maker, dishwasher, full-size
stove, and microwave. Dining room.
- Television
and VCR; telephone; desk and lamp.
- Front
porch with rockers; rear balcony; private entrance; outdoor

meeting room for groups up to

The
Bing Crosby Suite
Located
on the lakeside level of the Celebrity House, the Bing Crosby
Suite is named for the Hollywood star who frequented Basswood
in the '40s and '50s.

The
Rudy Vallee Suite
Also
located on the lakeside level of the Celebrity House, this
suite honors the star of radio, stage, and screen who, along
with his wife Eleanor, were once frequent guests at Basswood.
Mr. Vallee was also a partner in the famous Basswood Spring
Water Company; and photos of him adorn the suite.

of the Rudy Vallee Suite:
- Master
bedroom with king-size bed; second bedroom with queen-size
bed.
- Private
bath with shower; also a half-bath in the master bedroom.
