Four freshwater lakes at Basswood are fed by the ever-bubbling original Basswood spring. (This is the same spring water that Basswood founder A. J. Stephens bottled and sold worldwide). History will show that the Basswood property originally operated as a fish hatchery and then a private sportsman's club and now the best Kansas City, Missouri Fishing camp.

The lakes are stocked with catfish, bass, crappie, bluegill and carp.

As these are private lakes, no state license is required, but there are limits and a small fee charged.

Fishing, 7:00 a.m. until dusk, no night fishing. Registered guests $3.00 per pole per day.

Serious anglers will be happy to hear that the Basswood lakes are reserved exclusively for fishing. Swimmers, rock throwing, and boats will not be allowed to disturb you or the fish.
